Sweet Santas

At one of our Crafty Ladies meetings, Carol Turner showed a book of Santa patterns and asked for someone to make a Santa quilt with her.  I decided to do it.  I used the machine applique method I learned recently in a class.  I got to shop for gold-toned backgrounds, greens, and reds at Pacific International, which was fun.  I also got to embellish with a bunch of my decorative stitches, and I put beads in certain strategic places.

We hang it in the entry way every Christmas.

Bright Squares

The year I started quilt camp for Foothills Guild the attendees gave me a jelly roll and charm pack of really bright fabrics.  I finally put them together using a really easy pattern one of the Crafty Ladies found.

Camp Quilt

A small group at Pioneer’s camp started this:  use the Bricks and Stones pattern (free on the internet), using only your stash, and make a quilt to use at camp.  Most of them were kind of long and narrow.  I used a collection of batiks with turquoise, and 4-patches with navy blue and white.  I had to buy the fabric for the 4-patches.

Betty’s Brown Mystery

I took a mystery class at Jamboree and decided to use fabrics from a UFO I no longer wanted to make.  I had to get one more fabric to make the pattern work.  It wasn’t perfect but it was fine.

Laurel Burch Flannel Prisms

I used my favorite Prisms pattern to make another flannel quilt with my Laurel Burch fabrics.  I finally quilted it, although I don’t like the quilting.
